  33. Hi there, I just wanted to thank all of the Generous offers that were
  34. made to my wife, Amazonhect, (Shari), on behalf of the little boy she
  35. was looking for a 1541 disk drive for.

  37. The little boys name is Daniel and he does have a disorder called
  38. ADHD. He's 7 years old and he has a sister who is 11. Each of them
  39. have a C64 setup in their rooms and obsolutely LOVE their computers,
  40. especially Daniel. In fact, he loves C64 so much that when the drive
  41. broke, he went to his mother and told her that he thought he was going
  42. to pass out! The drive he had was one of the oldest type 1541's with
  43. the strange type pull down mech., I have heard people have alot of
  44. problems with these type of drives.

  46. His sister uses her C64 extensively for doing school reports and using
  47. printmaster. The next step will be getting them hooked up to the
  48. internet!

  50. I would encourage anyone who knows kids that are at a disadvantage,
  51. (Daniel and his sister do not have a father), to try and get them set
  52. up with a c64 system. Yes, you will hear comments that they should set
  53. them up with an IBM, but it doesnt make since because they could never
  54. afford to upgrade or to buy any software.

  56. Daniel's C64 has made such a difference in him. He is extremely
  57. interested in anything to do with his computer. Since his disorder
  58. involves his attention span, his mother feels it has made a difference
  59. in his behavoir. Who knows, maybe they will start subscribing C64's
  60. instead of Ritilian to kids with ADHD! :)
